Starting wage: $16.63 - $19.20 hourly (dependent on qualifications)
The City of Marceline is accepting applications for a Water Operator. Under general supervision in the
Water Department, an employee in this position performs a wide variety of skilled, semi-skilled duties in
the installation, repair and maintenance of systems used in the operation of the City of Marceline Water
Department including water and wastewater distribution; and performs related work as assigned. This
includes the operations of the water treatment plant and equipment, collecting and testing of water,
recording data, adjusting chemical feed pumps, as well as maintenance of the water plant, water
distribution lines and wastewater lines. Selected applicant will also be required to operate and maintain a
range of construction equipment, including a variety of power and hand tools.
Employees are subject to working in both inside and outside environments, in extreme temperatures, and
exposure to various hazards.
